Role: Data, Analytics & AI Lead
Location: Based anywhere in the UK or Europe - mainly remote with ad hoc office visits
Day Rate: £1200 - £1500 per day
Duration: 6 Months (with a view to extend)
Strategic Leadership
- Define and execute a modern data, analytics, and AI strategy aligned with business goals, leveraging data mesh, data fabric, and federated models.
- Develop a cross-functional roadmap of data assets and AI use cases to drive insights, innovation, and competitive advantage.
- Integrate data and AI into core functions for enhanced operational performance.
Data Governance & Execution
- Establish enterprise data governance, including MDM, global/local definitions, and a Data Governance Council.
- Optimise architecture and access to trusted data; promote tools like Snowflake, Databricks, and Collibra for scalable, governed data use.
- Deliver efficient, scalable solutions across global projects, M&A activity, and business transformation.
Analytics & AI Innovation
- Lead design and deployment of AI/ML solutions (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch) to support R&D, supply chain, and customer insights.
- Explore emerging tech such as generative AI and real-time analytics (e.g., Apache Kafka) to fuel innovation.
- Maximize performance and cost-efficiency through cloud platforms like AWS Redshift and Azure Synapse.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and lead a high-performing team of data professionals, fostering a culture of innovation and inclusivity.
- Advise executive leadership with data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions.
- Align data and AI priorities with business needs through strong cross-functional and external partnerships.
- Lead high-impact programs (e.g., MDM, data harmonization), balancing cross-business trade-offs and ensuring delivery.
- Translate complex digital strategies into actionable narratives for senior stakeholders.
Experience & Skills Required:
- 8-10+ years in data and analytics leadership; 5+ in strategy, governance, and AI.
- Proven experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), modern architectures (data mesh/fabric), and AI frameworks.
- Strong understanding of data privacy (e.g., GDPR) and compliance in regulated environments.
- Experience with global, Agile delivery models.
- Deep expertise in the FMCG / CPG industries
- Strategic vision with business acumen, strong communicator and influencer, analytical thinker with decisive leadership and skilled in leading change at scale
